Museum

We eagerly anticipate the grand opening of the Military Heritage Museum and Education Center in early summer 2013. Located at the corner of 8th Street and Riverfront Drive in Sheboygan, the museum will have educational programs for students and also serve as a repository for every branch of the military. Military memorabilia (mess kits, dog tags, metals, uniforms, etc) is now being accepted for loan or donation from veterans and veterans' families, as well as monetary donations. Contact us for more info.

Renovations

Our generous volunteers have been busy painting and renovating the museum’s space to accommodate the many military exhibits. The carpeting will be installed soon and exhibits will be constructed.

“We Honor Veterans” Exhibit Donations

We would like to thank the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the donation of the “We Honor Veterans” exhibit. Military memorabilia (mess kits, dog tags, medals, uniforms, etc) are now being accepted for loan or donation from veterans and veterans' families, as well as monetary donations.

Museum Renamed

The Naval Museum and Education Center has been renamed to the Military Heritage Museum and Education Center to better reflect all armed services.

Educational Programs

In partnership with local resources and professional educators below are some of the educational programs that will be run at Sheboygan's Military Heritage Museum and Education Center:

Day Trips and Overnight Dock Side Cruises

Schools, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H Clubs, church groups, Navy League Sea Cadets and other organizations will be able to schedule day trips and/or overnight “dock side cruises” to gain experience on what it was like for their brothers, sisters, fathers, uncles and grandfathers to serve on-board a naval ship. Veterans will share their experiences on a variety of subjects. Children will participate in shipboard exercises to learn how a naval ship is operated.
